The person behind ClassicBlade
Thomas Hargrove.
A long view of
the everyday shave.
An experienced wet shaver and collector, with useful perspective and limits worth making clear.

Experience, with perspective
Useful observations.
Clearly marked boundaries.
Thomas has wet shaved for 23 years and has owned or handled 300+ razors. His perspective is that of an experienced long-term wet shaver and collector.
He is not presented as a barber, dermatologist, physician, razor engineer, metallurgist, historian, antique appraiser, retailer, manufacturer insider, or medical professional.
Handling a razor and shaving with it are different experiences. Each firsthand account should identify the item, say which took place, and explain the conditions. Collection size is never used as a test count.
Grooming guidance stays practical: lather, angle, low pressure, limited passes, and careful blade handling. It is not treatment for a skin condition or a guarantee against irritation.
The editorial standard
Show how we know.
Different claims deserve different labels.
Firsthand handling/use
Identify the item, whether it was handled or used, and the conditions. Never turn collection size into an implied test count.
Manufacturer specification
Attribute the statement to the maker. Distinguish published specifications from independent measurements.
Community consensus
Name sources and acknowledge variation. A repeated opinion is context, not universal agreement.
Historical/editorial context
Separate explanation from documented history and qualify uncertain details.
Personal preference
Say when a choice rests on feel, convenience, price, or ritual. Leave room for another preference.
Corrections stay visible
Check the source, update the affected article, and keep uncertain claims qualified or remove them.
